My best friend posted on Facebook last night, something that made me really smile. It’s so true!
“Being deaf sucks but there are small mercies occasionally. The dog is snoring and snuffling like a good un, just like the husband really..! And I’m about to sleep through it all!”
I can only but agree! As expected of the humour of my friend’s husband, friends and family, the comment thread reached pages long and added to the morning’s entertainment. But I had post about the original status and emphasise really that sleep SO rocks when you’re deaf! 😀

hehe yes there are some good points to being deaf! 🙂
When you were a little girl, I remember you loved to read. We’d go to the library, you’d choose a book (was it the Naughty Little Sister series?). Once we got home, you tucked yourself into the comfiest chair and read – and there was no disturbing you. You could switch off from the outside world – literally.
I know it’s a heck of a step to a world where you can’t switch back on but I still hope the medical people can find an answer.
The thing is, though, whatever trials you are facing, keep your sense of humour. It really does help. I could tell you stories of people we know (including your grandad).
Polish your chuckle button!

hehe i saw that too! its a one of the good things of the ci. you can choose what u would like to listen to hehe.
i too sleep peacefully through everything and people wish they could have the same! i sleep through the hoover when mum brings it upstairs! 🙂
I remember when you were little, we’d go to the library on a Saturday. You would choose a book (Naughty Little Sister?) and when we got home, you’d tuck yourself up in a chair and there’d be no disturbing you. Sometimes it can be nice to switch off.
I understand now that it’s hard when you don’t know if you’ll ever be able to switch on again, but try at all times to keep your sense of humour. It’ll help you win through.

That’s a lovely post by your Dad. Sense of humour is so important.
